Limon, Honduras
Located in Limon, Colon the mission here in this community is a true blessing for the people. Here there is large population of Garifunas, a very large ethnic group of people found along the coast of Honduras. Poverty in this region of Honduras is widespread due the poor economy. We have a huge need for the children at the Limon Feeding Program. Many of the kids here are orphans and completely rely on us for the food that they are receiving. A large problem in the community is the high mortality rates of parents suffering with AIDS, leaving their children behind to fend for themselves. Cruzadas feels a HUGE burden for these children and with partners like you, we are able to meet their needs for food and nourishment.
Here in Limon, it’s not just the children who are in need of aid. This kitchen also strives to meet the needs of single mothers, elderly people, widows, and even others who struggle with handicaps such as the blind and deaf. Of course, our primary effort is to feed the children first but anything we can give to meet the needs of others we do. Just like at our other feeding kitchens, this allows for us to show God’s love to a people who really need it.
